I love to receive your ideas on charities, organisations and individual children who you would like to receive some of our bears.
I do my best to find suitable places to send our hard work to but I am only one, so it is incredibly helpful when you all send me information on fantastic and varied establishments both here and abroad who work with children.
I also enjoy distributing our Angelbears to individual children who have had a difficult time and these children also receive an individualised 'Angelbear Letter' giving them support and encouragement. This is a really lovely way to give bears as when I know of the individual circumstances the bear and letter can be 'tailored' to that particular child. There are no 'rules' as to which children are Angelbear 'candidates', as events in children's lives that are challenging to them may not seem so huge and daunting from an adult perspective.
Perhaps the child has experienced the break down of the family (divorce), bereavement, bullying, even a house move away from family and friends which has left them feeling a little usurped and shaky. It is as simple as dropping me an email or a letter explaining who is the nominee, their address and the circumstances which have led to your nomination. Please also give me your details so I can consult you if needed, let you know when the bear has been dispatched and/or to ask for any further details I feel would help. Please, if you can, obtain parental consent before nomination and inform me of the outcome.
A nomination can come from other sources too. Recently a family suffered an arson attack on their home killing two young children and leaving the Mum and a baby son with serious burns. In this case I obtained information on where the child was receiving life-saving treatment and sent a very special bear to him. So if there is a child you hear about and you want to let me know that is more than acceptable and I will research the 'case' and send a bear if appropriate under the individual circumstances.
