Materials Required
100g DK Yarn (MC)
3.5mm Crochet Hook (UK/Canadian 9 or US E/4)
Small amount of black/brown yarn for features (YARN B)
Darning needle
Toy Filling

Abbreviations:
Sc = Single crochet
Dc = Double crochet
Rnd = Round
Sl-st = Slip stitch
Ch = chain
*-* = Work the stitches between symbols as the repeat suggests
Head (starting from nose tip and working outwards with YARN B))
Rnd 1 - Make a 'magic adjustable ring' (see tutorials page) followed by 6 sc
(NB: Alternatively, chain 7, sl-st to join, followed by 6 single crochet into loop)
Rnd 2 - 2 sc in every st around ring (12 sc)
**Continue rounds with your choice of main colour (MC)**
Rnd 3 - (*sc into next st, 2 sc into next st*) repeat from *-* 6 Times (18 sts)
Rnd 4 - (*sc into next 2 sts, 2 sc into next st*) repeat from *-* 6 Times (24)
Rnd 5 - (*sc into next 3 sts, 2 sc into next st*) repeat from *-* 6 Times (30)
Rnd 6 - (*sc into next 4 sts, 2 sc into next st*) repeat from *-* 6 Times (36)
Rnd 7 - (*sc into next 5 sts, 2 sc into next st*) repeat from *-* 6 Times (42)
Sc every st for the following 4 rnds!
Rnd 12 - (*Sc into next 5 sts, sc next 2 tog*) 6 Times (36)
Rnd 13 - *(Sc into next 4 sts, sc next 2 tog*) 6 Times (30)
Rnd 14 - (*Sc into next 3 sts, sc next 2 tog*) 6 Times (24)
Rnd 15 - (*Sc into next 2 sts, sc next 2 tog*) 6 Times (18)
NB: You may wish to stuff at this point...
Rnd 16 - (*Sc into next st, sc next 2 tog*) 6 Times (12)
Rnd 17 - Sc 2 tog 6 Times
Rnd 18 - Sc 2 tog 3 Times
Body
Make as per head, ensuring you stuff the body cavity at around Rnd 16 or the gap will become too small to work with!
NB: If you intend on adding a skirt, do not join body to head until skirt is complete.
Ears (make 2)
Crochet as per head for rows 1 through 3.
Join with sl-st and fasten off
Limbs (make 4)
Rnd 1 - Make a 'magic adjustable ring' (see tutorials page) followed by 6 sc
Rnd 2 - 2 sc in every st around ring (12 sc)
Rnd 3 - Sc in every st around ring
Rnd 4 - Sc in every st around ring
Rnd 5 - (*sc 1, sc 2 into next st*) 6 Times (18)
Rnd 6 - Sc every st
Rnd 7 - (*sc1, sc 2 tog*) 6 Times (12)
Rnd 8 - (*sc 1, sc 2 tog*) 6 Times (8)
NB: Stuff limb with toy filling...
Rnd 9 - Sc 2 tog 4 Times
Fasten off
Making Up
Using a blunt ended darning needle sew head onto body with the rounds running horizontally on the body.
sew ears onto side of head in a low position. Sew limbs onto bear (as illustrated) with the legs situated so the bear can sit steadily.
Skirt (optional)
Using 3.5mm hook DK for basic Angelmonkie.
Rnd 1 - Slip stitch with chosen skirt colour around two-thirds of the way up the body.
Rnd 2 - 1xdc into first stitch, 2 dc into next � rep until round complete & join with a slip-stitch
Rnd 3 - Work 2 x dc into every st. Join rnd with sl-st
Rnd 4 - Work 4 x dc into every st. Join rnd with sl-st
Rnd 5 - Using contrast colour, sc into every st. Join rnd with sl-st
One crocheted Angelmonkie completed. Well done!!
